My Google Fit exercise isn’t showing in my diary - what do I do?

We pull your data from Health Connect – not directly from Google Fit– so the best place to start is checking that you have the necessary permissions turned on in your Google Fit app. To do this:

  1. Open Health Connect and select App Permissions
  2. Select Google Fit from the list to open the permissions
  3. Ensure ALL is selected.

Please note that it can sometimes take up to 24 hours for the data to start syncing once the permissions have been set up correctly.


There are further settings you can try within the Google Fit app that can fix their syncing.

  1. Open Google Fit
  2. Press on your Profile icon
  3. Go into Settings
  4. Make sure that “Sync with Health Connect” is toggled ON.

To find the data to send to us:

  1. Open Health Connect
  2. Select Data and Access > Activity
  3. Tap the specific data type that appears incorrect (e.g. Steps or Exercise)
